Building Surveyor - Damp & Mould

Location: North London
Rate: £45.59 per hour (Umbrella, Inside IR35)
Contract: Initial 5 Months
Working Pattern: Office-Based with Site Visits

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Diagnostics Surveyor to join a busy Local Authority in North London, supporting their Housing Repairs and Diagnostics team.
This is an excellent opportunity to join an established team of surveyors, managing a growing caseload of property repairs, diagnosing building defects and ensuring appropriate remedial works are identified and delivered.

Key Responsibilities
·Carry out detailed property inspections to identify building defects, with a particular focus on damp, mould and condensation.
·Diagnose the root causes of defects and recommend appropriate remedial works.
·Prepare technical reports, including condensation assessments and submissions to the High Value Repair Panel.
·Manage repair cases, including fire, flood and insurance-related damage.
·Oversee works on site, monitor progress and ensure repairs meet required standards.
·Maintain accurate records, track project progress and escalate any issues where necessary.
·Liaise effectively with tenants, contractors, internal teams and other stakeholders.

About You
·Essential: Previous experience carrying out property surveys and diagnosing defects within Council or Housing Association housing stock.
·Strong understanding of building pathology, particularly damp, mould and condensation.
·Experience specifying remedial works and managing housing repairs.
·Excellent communication, organisational and report-writing skills.
·Ability to manage a busy caseload independently and work effectively within a team.
