Building Surveyor

A client of mine, a well-established and forward-thinking consultancy, are seeking a Building Surveyor to join their London office. This is a very unique opportunity for a Building Surveyor at any level to work across projects in the Retail, Commercial, Industrial, Education, and Residential sectors. The Building Surveyor Role
As the successful Building Surveyor, you will be responsible for delivering a wide range of professional Building Surveying services to an impressive client base. You''ll work on diverse and high-profile instructions, supporting clients while contributing to the continued growth of the team.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
Preparing detailed Building Survey reports for clients.
Providing clear, reasoned advice on claims for dilapidations.
Carrying out inspections and preparing Schedules of Condition.
Acting as Contract Administrator to ensure the smooth running of construction projects.
Preparing scheme designs, including costings, programmes, and specifications of works.
Managing tender processes and advising on procurement and contractor appointments.
Undertaking Party Wall inspections and negotiations.
Administering the Tenant''s Surveyor role to achieve successful handovers of new developments.
Reporting upwards to meet client expectations.
Undertaking site inspections and surveys across the UK where required.
The Successful Building Surveyor Will Have
A relevant degree in Building Surveying (or related discipline) with demonstrable industry experience.
Alternatively, CIOB membership and relevant practical experience will also be considered.
A strong work ethic and ability to collaborate as part of a team.
Desirable:
MRICS status, or working towards chartership.
Experience in the retail, leisure, or commercial sectors.
iMaPS or PD/CDM-C qualifications (e.g. NEBOSH).
Solid technical knowledge across Contract Administration, Building Surveys, CDM, Schedules of Condition, Dilapidations, and Party Walls.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise at all levels.
Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and mobile data collection.
Leadership and people management experience.
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
