Building Surveyor

Location: County Hall, PR1 8RE
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Duration: 3+ Months
Working Hours: Mon – Fri, 09:00 – 17:00, 37 Hours per week
Pay Rate: £ 20.48 per hour

Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed building surveys and assessments for various projects within Lancashire County.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports outlining findings, recommendations, and necessary actions for building maintenance and improvements.
  • Ensure all work complies with relevant legislation, regulations, and best practices in the field of building surveying.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, such as architects and engineers, to develop and implement building plans and projects.
  • Provide expert advice to clients and stakeholders regarding building conditions, defects, and solutions.
  • Manage project timelines and budgets effectively to ensure successful project delivery.
Person Specification
  • Possess a relevant degree or professional qualification in Building Surveying or a related field.
  • Proven experience in building surveying, preferably within a local government or public sector environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide clear, actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in using relevant software and tools for surveying and reporting purposes.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Valid UK driving licence and access to a business-insured vehicle for site visits.
