Conrad Consulting are delighted to be working with an established multidisciplinary property and construction consultancy who are looking to appoint a Building Surveyor to join their growing Building Surveying team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Building Surveyor with 1–2 years' post-qualification experience, or equivalent experience within the profession, to develop their career across a varied portfolio of clients and projects.
The role offers excellent exposure to both professional and project-based building surveying, with particular opportunities across the housing, transport and education sectors.
The RoleAs a Building Surveyor, you will be involved in a broad range of work, including:
- Undertaking condition, dilapidation and DDA/accessibility surveys
- Acting as Contract Administrator on building surveying commissions
- Preparing specifications, schedules and drawings
- Providing technical advice and design solutions
- Producing professional reports for clients
- Advising on building pathology and remedial solutions
- Supporting Party Wall, dilapidations and other specialist surveying work
- Managing and monitoring project financial performance
- Liaising with clients, contractors, consultants and other stakeholders
- Supporting the management of client workloads and framework agreements
- Identifying opportunities to develop existing client relationships and generate new work
- Supporting junior members of the team with technical queries
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- A BSc in Building Surveying, Construction Management or a related discipline
- Around 1–2 years' PQE or equivalent relevant building surveying experience
- Experience across professional building surveying services
- Knowledge of building pathology and technical surveying
- Experience with contract administration and specification writing
- Strong communication and report-writing skills
- The confidence to deal with clients and challenging situations
- A collaborative approach and willingness to support colleagues
- Ambition to progress towards MRICS / Chartered Building Surveyor status
