Building Surveying Manager

Hill and Hill Recruitment are seeking a Building Surveying Manager to work within a Local Authority based in Suffolk. Key Responsibilities You will provide professional leadership and technical expertise across the Council s housing maintenance, planned maintenance and major capital improvement programmes, ensuring works are delivered effectively and to the required standards. You will manage and lead a team of building surveyors, technical officers and other property professionals, including allocation of workloads, programming, performance management, mentoring and appraisal. You will lead project teams delivering high-value and complex maintenance, refurbishment and improvement projects, coordinating internal teams, contractors and external stakeholders. You will provide senior technical advice to housing management, senior leadership teams, elected members and other stakeholders, ensuring building-related issues are clearly communicated and appropriately managed. You will oversee the delivery of responsive repairs, planned maintenance and major capital programmes, ensuring works are properly prioritised, programmed and delivered within agreed timescales and budgets. You will undertake and oversee feasibility studies, condition surveys, cost estimates, specifications, drawings and contract documentation for repair, maintenance, refurbishment, adaptation, demolition and other building works.
