The Role
We are recruiting for experienced Mechanical and Electrical Engineers to join an established engineering team working across a large, technically complex commercial estate.
These are hands-on engineering positions, responsible for the safe and reliable operation, maintenance and repair of critical building services.
We are happy to consider candidates from either a Mechanical or Electrical engineering background. You will need a recognised Level 3 qualification in your respective discipline and strong experience working within a commercial, critical or technically complex environment.
The role operates on a 12-hour shift pattern of 2 days, 2 nights followed by 4 days off.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance across the site.
- Inspect, operate and maintaing building services and associated equipment.
- Diagnose faults and carry out repairs to mechanical or electrical systems.
- Respond to reactive maintenance issues and minimise disruption to building operations.
- Complete routine plant room and equipment inspections.
- Monitor building systems through BMS and computerised control/monitoring systems.
About You
We are looking for practical, technically capable engineers who are comfortable working independently as part of a 24/7 engineering operation.
You should have experience within a commercial building services environment where reliability, safety and response times are important.
Experience within commercial building services would be advantageous.
You should also be comfortable using computerised maintenance systems and have a good level of IT literacy. The original role specifically requires the ability to manage daily activities through systems including BMS and other computerised monitoring/control platforms.
Qualifications & Experience
- City & Guilds Level 3/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Previous working experience within a commercial building services environment.
- Strong practical maintenance and fault-finding experience.
- Good understanding of planned and reactive maintenance.
- Experience working with BMS or computerised building control/monitoring systems.
