Building Control Team Leader

Location: West Sussex - Hybrid Working Rate: £90 per hour Contract: Until 31 March 2027, with potential for a further 6-12 month extension Hours: 37 hours per weekCarrington West are assisting a local authority in West Sussex with the appointment of an experienced Senior Building Control Team Leader to lead and manage their Building Control service on an interim basis.This is a senior, hands-on position requiring an experienced Registered Building Inspector with Class 3H competency, combining operational team leadership with complex Building Control casework, regulatory compliance and significant service improvement activity.The successful candidate will lead a small team of Registered Building Inspectors and support staff, while playing a key role in preparing the service for future Building Safety Regulator audit requirements.Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the day-to-day delivery of the Building Control service and supervise a team of Registered Building Inspectors and administrative staff Provide technical leadership, professional guidance and support across complex Building Control matters Manage Building Control applications including site inspections, Building Notices, regularisations, reversions and Full Plans checks where required Oversee dangerous structures, enforcement activity and other statutory Building Control responsibilities Ensure operational standards, governance, records and regulatory requirements are maintained Lead preparations for a mock ..... full job details .....
