Builders Merchant Delivery Drivers

Driver Hire Uxbridge are recruiting for Delivery-Drivers for our client based in Southall, one of the UK''s leading Builders Merchants

PAYE between -13.75 and -16.55 per hour (including holiday pay)

Shifts are mainly during the week, Day shifts, Monday to Friday (occasional weekends)

Start times between 6:30am & 7:30am

Duties expected of a Delivery Driver:

• Multi-drop deliveries and collections-of building supplies (hand tools, flooring, timber, painting & decorating supplies etc.)
• Preparing customer orders prior to dispatch and loading orders onto vehicles,-you will be required to use ratchet straps for all deliveries and collections
• Communicate with customers to confirm delivery details and address any concerns or issues
• Some companies require constant heaving lifting for deliveries/collections! (lifting heavy items for a distant and up/down stairs)
• Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance, including checking fuel levels, tyre pressure, and fluid levels
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption
• Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations

Rates of pay for a Van Driver:

• We pay for a minimum of 8 hours a day (breaks are not paid)
• Overtime is paid after 9 hours
• PAYE between -13.75 and -16.55 per hour (including holiday pay)

Requirements of a Delivery Driver:

• Valid UK CAT B licence for at least 2 years with no more than 6 points (no DR DD TT IN)
• Manual driving licence
• You must be over the age of 25 years for insurance purposes
• At least 1-year experience as a van driver or in a similar role is preferred (references required)
• No more than 1 hour commute for you to travel to work
• Physically fit, as some jobs require lifting and shifting
• Excellent communication skills to interact with customers and team members
• Familiarity with commercial driving regulations and safety standards
