The young person is newly arrived in the UK and has had limited previous access to formal education and hearing support. He has recently received new hearing aids and is gradually adjusting to them. He does not currently use sign language and primarily communicates through lip reading and gesture. We are looking for a patient, resilient and adaptable individual who can introduce and develop British Sign Language (BSL) while helping the student access learning, develop communication and integrate into school life. The Role: Provide consistent 1:1 support throughout the school day. Introduce and model BSL to develop communication skills. Use BSL, gesture, visual prompts and modelling.
