About the Role
SANZA Teaching Agency is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced SEND Teaching Assistant with British Sign Language (BSL) skills to join a primary school with a dedicated deaf provision in Islington. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real impact by supporting deaf pupils in accessing the curriculum, developing confidence, and achieving their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with hearing impairments across the primary age range.

• Use BSL confidently and fluently to facilitate communication and learning.

• Work collaboratively with the class teacher, Teacher of the Deaf, and SENCO to deliver adapted lessons.

• Support children''s social, emotional, and academic development.

• Help create an inclusive and engaging classroom environment.

Requirements

• A recognised BSL qualification (minimum Level 2; Level 3+ preferred).

• Previous experience working with deaf or hearing-impaired pupils.

• Strong communication and behaviour management skills.

• A patient, proactive, and flexible approach to supporting SEND learners.
