Sheridan Maine is partnering with a leading financial services client to recruit a Broker Compensation Accountant. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to work three days per week from their Canary Wharf office while contributing to a dynamic, global team.
 
You will play a key role in supporting the EMEA Broker Compensation Accounting Manager, ensuring accurate and timely broker compensation accounting across the EMEA region, while meeting all internal and external reporting deadlines.
 
Your key responsibilities as the Broker Compensation Accountant:

  • Maintain accuracy of compensation-related P&L and Balance Sheet accounts across EMEA, including monthly postings, reconciliations, and reviews.
  • Support the Senior Broker Compensation Accountant and stakeholders to ensure timely completion of all compensation accounting matters.
  • Calculate and reconcile bonus accruals, actual payments, and related variances.
  • Prepare management information, including desk and broker performance reports and trend analysis.
  • Identify process improvements, document policies and procedures, and explore opportunities to leverage technology and automation.
  • Monitor and report on compensation-related FX exposures.
  • Contribute to P&L commentary and liaise with global counterparts to share best practices.
  • Assist auditors with timely delivery of files and responses.
  • Ensure confidentiality of all sensitive compensation data.
  • Provide ad-hoc support to the Compensation Accounting Manager as required.
 
You will require the following skills and experience to succeed as the Broker Compensation Accountant:
  • Part-qualified and working towards ACCA or CIMA qualification, or qualified by experience, ideally within the UK financial services industry.
  • Experience with broker compensation, bonus calculations, or related processes is highly desirable.
  • Advanced Excel and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and present complex financial information.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of collaborating with both local and global stakeholders.
