The main duties of the experienced Bridge Inspector are: Carry out General, Special and Monitoring Inspections of highway structures, including: Bridges Retaining walls Rural footbridges High mast lighting columns Identify, assess and record structural defects and condition information. Access all areas of structures where required, including carrying survey equipment on site. Input and retrieve information using highway asset management systems and databases. Assist with the management of the General Inspection programme. Support the development of capital and reactive maintenance programmes. Contribute to asset management plans and policies for the maintenance and renewal of highway infrastructure. Liaise with clients, design teams, structure owners and external organisations regarding highway structures.
