Bridge Engineer Location: Chelmsford Contract: Permanent Sector: Highways and InfrastructureWe''re recruiting for an experienced Structures Engineer to join a well-established highways team delivering a varied programme of structure replacement, refurbishment and improvement schemes across Essex.This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with strong technical expertise in highway structures design who is looking to take ownership of schemes, provide technical leadership, and mentor junior engineers while working on complex and high-profile infrastructure projects.The Role Reporting to the Team Leader, you''ll be responsible for planning, coordinating and delivering highway structures schemes from design through to implementation. You''ll play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high technical standard, while working collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders.Key responsibilities include: Leading the design, planning and programming of highway structures works Delivering structure replacement, refurbishment and improvement schemes Applying design standards including Eurocodes, DMRB and MCHW Providing clear technical and project leadership across assigned schemes Managing and monitoring works programmes and consultant/contractor performance Ensuring compliance with CDM Regulations and Health and Safety policies Mentoring junior staff and checking technical outputs Supporting budget management, governance ..... full job details .....
