Highway Structures Engineer Location: Manchester Salary: £44,000-£46,000 Contract: Permanent Working Arrangements: Hybrid working available, with regular site visits and stakeholder engagement across the highway networkExciting Opportunity for a Highway Structures EngineerAn excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Highway Structures Engineer to join a leading highways and infrastructure team, supporting the delivery, maintenance and improvement of a major urban highway network.This is a fantastic opportunity for a technically strong engineer to take a lead role across a diverse portfolio of highway structures projects, including bridge inspections, maintenance programmes, minor works schemes and asset management activities.The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering safe, compliant and cost-effective engineering solutions, working closely with internal teams, contractors, consultants and key stakeholders to ensure highway structures remain operational, resilient and fit for the future.The main duties of the Highway Structures Engineer include: Leading the delivery of highway structures maintenance programmes, including annual inspection and assessment programmes. Undertaking and overseeing general and principal bridge inspections in line with relevant standards and legislation.
