Breeding Team Supervisor

We are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of our client for a motivated and proactive Team Leader to oversee their Transgenic Breeding Team within a busy Biological Resources Unit. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced leader with strong organisational and people management skills to oversee day-to-day breeding operations, coordinate workloads, maintain accurate records, and ensure the highest standards of animal care and regulatory compliance. Working closely with researchers and key stakeholders, you''ll play a key role in supporting the delivery of cutting-edge research.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and support the day-to-day operations of the Transgenic Breeding Team, providing guidance and making decisions to ensure the smooth running of the unit. Coordinate team workloads and oversee daily activities, ensuring researcher requests are delivered efficiently and to a high standard. Maintain accurate breeding and colony records, updating colony management systems and ensuring data integrity. Carry out routine animal husbandry duties, including feeding, watering, cleaning, health monitoring, and welfare checks in line with best practice. Work closely with researchers, licence holders, and the wider team to support the successful delivery of research programmes. Promote high operational standards and contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and working practices.
