Bookkeeper

An established and growing accountancy practice is looking to recruit an experienced Bookkeeper to join its friendly and professional team.This is a varied role supporting a diverse portfolio of clients, ranging from sole traders and partnerships to limited companies. The successful candidate will ideally be based 3 days per week in Bedford, 1 day in Huntingdon and 1 day in St Neots, with occasional travel to client premises where required.Key Responsibilities Managing bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients Preparing sales and purchase ledgers and completing bank reconciliations Preparing monthly and quarterly VAT returns Visiting client premises to set up and maintain computerised bookkeeping systems Providing training and support to clients using bookkeeping softwarestatutory payments Processing CIS data Providing technical support to colleagues where requiredThe ideal candidate will have: Previous experience in a bookkeeping role within an accountancy practice or similar environment Strong working knowledge of cloud-based bookkeeping software, including Xero, QuickBooks Online and Sage Excellent communication and client relationship skills A proactive approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines A professional and personable mannerWhat''s on Offer Full-time, permanent position A varied role with a broad client base Supportive and collaborative team environment Opportunity to ..... full job details .....
