Bookkeeper

Your new company

A well-established manufacturing business based in Preston, known for quality products and a strong reputation in the local area. Due to internal project demands, the company is seeking a capable and detail-focused Bookkeeper to support the finance function on a temporary basis for approximately nine months. You will be joining a friendly, supportive team in a fast-paced but welcoming office environment.

Your new role

As the Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the day-to-day running of the finance department. Your duties will include:

• Managing purchase and sales ledgers
• Bank reconciliations
• Processing invoices, expenses, and supplier payments
• Credit control activity
• Supporting month-end tasks, including journals, accruals, and prepayments
• Assisting with VAT returns
• Liaising with internal teams regarding costings and financial queries
• Providing general administrative finance support as needed

This is a full-time, office-based role in Preston.

What you''ll need to succeed

• Previous experience in a Bookkeeper or Accounts Assistant role
• Strong accuracy, attention to detail, and organisation skills
• Ability to work effectively in a busy office environment
• Experience with accounting software (Sage, Xero, or similar)
• Confident communicating with colleagues at all levels
• A proactive and reliable approach, with the ability to hit the ground running
