Bookkeeper

A friendly and growing independent accountancy practice is looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join their team on a temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with a small, supportive firm that provides accounting, bookkeeping, VAT, and tax services to a diverse portfolio of SME clients.The successful candidate will have previous experience working within an accountancy practice and must be confident using TaxCalc to support client accounts and tax-related processes.Key ResponsibilitiesManaging bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients across various sectorsProcessing sales and purchase ledger transactionsPerforming bank reconciliations and maintaining accurate financial recordsPreparing and submitting VAT returnsAssisting with year-end accounts preparationMaintaining client records and ensuring all financial information is up to dateLiaising directly with clients to resolve bookkeeping queriesSupporting the partners and accountants with ad hoc finance and practice-related tasksUsing TaxCalc to manage client data, accounts preparation, and tax workflowsEssential RequirementsPrevious bookkeeping experience within an accountancy practiceStrong working knowledge of TaxCalc is essentialExperience preparing VAT returns and maintaining client bookkeeping recordsGood understanding of double-entry bookkeeping principlesAbility to manage multiple client deadlines effectivelyStrong attention to detail and accuracyExcellent communication and organisational ..... full job details .....
