Vantage Consulting are recruiting for a Project Manager on behalf of a leading building automation specialist delivering cutting-edge smart building projects across the UK.

This opportunity will see you take ownership of a flagship commercial office fit-out project in Central London, delivering an integrated package of Building Management Systems (BMS), Energy Management Systems (EMS), and Smart Building technologies.

This is a highly visible role that will involve managing the project from preconstruction through installation, commissioning, and final handover. The project is currently in the delivery phase and requires an experienced Project Manager who is confident operating in fast-paced fit-out environments while managing multiple stakeholders, contractors, and technical workstreams.

The business is recognised for delivering innovative building automation and intelligent building solutions across major commercial developments.

Role Overview

As Project Manager, you will be responsible for delivering a technically advanced BMS and Smart Buildings package within a high-spec commercial fit-out environment.

You will work closely with clients, consultants, engineers, commissioning teams, and subcontractors to ensure delivery is achieved safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

The role requires strong experience in BMS delivery, commissioning coordination, programme management, and stakeholder engagement across the full project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery & Coordination

Manage full project lifecycle from preconstruction to handover.
Develop and maintain programmes and delivery schedules.
Coordinate engineering, installation, and commissioning teams.
Manage subcontractors and specialist suppliers.
Chair progress meetings and coordinate stakeholder communication.
Monitor risks and implement mitigation actions.
Ensure programme milestones are achieved.

Installation & Site Management

Oversee site delivery during installation phase.
Coordinate multiple trades in a live fit-out environment.
Resolve technical and programme issues.
Ensure effective allocation of resources.
Maintain strong client and contractor relationships.

Commissioning & Handover

Manage commissioning activities through to completion.
Coordinate witness testing and demonstrations.
Oversee snagging and close-out activities.
Ensure client training and handover completion.
Drive project close-out in line with programme.

Quality, Compliance & Safety

Ensure compliance with company and client standards.
Maintain H&S requirements across site activities.
Conduct site inspections and quality checks.
Manage documentation and reporting.
Support QA processes throughout delivery.

The Ideal Candidate

Proven experience delivering BMS projects.
Strong understanding of controls and commissioning.
Experience managing commercial fit-out projects.
Ability to coordinate multiple contractors and stakeholders.
Strong programme and delivery management skills.
Client-facing communication experience.
Experience managing commissioning and handover stages.
Comfortable in fast-paced project environments.

Tridium experience.
EMS project experience.
Smart / Intelligent Buildings exposure.
HVAC controls knowledge.
Experience on complex commercial projects.
