Pertemps are recruiting on behalf of Northumbrian Water for an experienced HGV Class 1 (C E) Night Tanker Driver based at Howdon.
This is an excellent opportunity to join one of the region's leading utility companies, playing a key role in supporting wastewater operations across the North East.
As an HGV C E Tanker Driver, you will be responsible for transporting sludge products from Northumbrian Water's sewage treatment works across the North East to treatment facilities at Bran Sands and Howdon.
Key responsibilities include:
- Operating HGV Class 1 vehicles safely and efficiently
- Ensuring compliance with Driver Hours Regulations, Working Time Directive and O-Licence requirements
- Carrying out daily vehicle inspections and defect reporting in line with DVSA standards
- Maintaining a clean, safe and compliant vehicle at all times
- Safely loading and unloading tanker equipment in accordance with Northumbrian Water Health & Safety procedures
- Promoting and supporting the "Everyone Home Safe Everyday" culture
- Driving in a fuel-efficient and environmentally responsible manner
- Delivering excellent service whilst representing Northumbrian Water professionally
- Full HGV Class 1 (C E) Licence
- Minimum 12 months' Class 1 driving experience
- Valid Driver CPC qualification
- Valid Digital Tachograph Card
- Good understanding of EU Drivers' Hours Regulations and Working Time Directive
- Strong commitment to health, safety and compliance
- Tanker driving experience (full training provided if not held)
