An opportunity exists for a Full Time, HCPC Registered Biomedical Scientist wishing to work within the Haematology and Blood Transfusion departments at Northwick Park and Central Middlesex Hospitals. The post is for BMS with Haematology and Blood Transfusion experience to cover all shifts. Full training and competency will be provided prior to commencing shifts. The successful candidate will participate in all shifts to support the 24/7 service as allocated by the Head of Haematology and Blood Transfusion Laboratories. The Laboratory serves a large GP catchment area with maternity, haematology oncology and diverse surgical activity, including St Marks Colorectal surgery. The Blood Transfusion laboratory uses Grifol\''s analysers on both sites and works with the Trust Transfusion Practitioners, Lead BT Clinicians and the Hospital Transfusion Team to promote Patient Blood Management. This role may require DBS checks as part of onboarding.Main duties
Rotation between Haematology and Blood Transfusion across both sites to cover the 24/7 service; participate in all duties, including night shifts.Haematology duties: run the XN9100 track, Sysmex CN6000 analysers, perform morphology, and maintain TATs for AandE and other urgent areas.Blood Transfusion duties: automated grouping, antibodies, cross-matching, NHSBT referrals, and providing component support for Major Haemorrhages.Requirements / Qualifications
HCPC Registered Biomedical Scientist.Haematology and Blood Transfusion experience essential.Willingness to work across all shifts to support 24/7 service needs.Benefits
