Bid Manager / Proposal Manager

We’re recruiting for an experienced Bid Manager / Proposal Manager to join the growing bid function of a multi-disciplinary organisation operating across sports infrastructure, environmental design, consultancy and research.

This is a varied role where you’ll manage bids and tenders across a diverse range of services and projects, working with both UK and international clients.

You'll take ownership of the full bid lifecycle, from opportunity qualification and planning through to submission, working closely with technical, operational and commercial teams to produce high-quality, compelling and fully compliant proposals.

The Role

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing end-to-end bid, tender and RFP processes from initial opportunity through to submission.
• Developing bid strategies, win themes and response plans based on client requirements and evaluation criteria.
• Coordinating technical, operational and commercial contributors throughout the bid process.
• Setting deadlines, managing review stages and keeping multiple stakeholders on track.
• Writing, editing and tailoring proposal content, including executive summaries, methodologies and project approaches.
• Ensuring submissions meet quality, governance and compliance requirements.
• Coordinating pricing, fee and commercial information with relevant stakeholders.
• Managing final production and submission of bids.
• Maintaining bid templates, case studies, project references and capability statements.
• Developing and improving bid processes, content libraries and best practice.
• Capturing lessons learned and using these to improve future bid performance.

You’ll be working across multiple concurrent opportunities, so strong organisation, communication and stakeholder management skills are essential.

About You

We're looking for an experienced bid professional with a proven track record of managing complex tenders and taking submissions from inception through to completion.

You should have:

• At least 3 years' relevant bid/tender management experience.
• Previous experience as a Bid Manager, Proposal Manager, Senior Bid Writer or similar.
• Experience managing complex bids and coordinating multiple contributors.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Excellent organisation and time-management skills.
• The ability to manage competing deadlines and priorities.
• Experience implementing or working within bid management processes, governance and quality assurance procedures.
• Excellent writing, editing and presentation skills.
• Experience with competitive tenders and RFP submissions.

Experience within consultancy, professional services, construction or a related sector would be advantageous.

Knowledge of the sports or water sectors would also be beneficial, as would experience with Adobe InDesign.

Location: Bingley, West Yorkshire or Daresbury, Cheshire
Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 per annum, depending on experience
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:45–17:00
