Bench Operative

Location: Sittingbourne, Kent
 
Salary: £21,500 - £23,500 DOE
 
Type: Permanent Role
 
Hours: Monday - Thursday 06:00am - 14:15pm
 
The Role
 
We are looking for a reliable and hands-on Bench Operative to join a busy manufacturing client. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling, finishing, and checking components to ensure they meet the required quality standards.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Carry out bench assembly and production tasks.
• Assemble components using hand tools and small power tools.
• Read and follow basic engineering drawings and work instructions.
• Carry out drilling, filing, deburring, cutting and finishing as required.
• Inspect components to ensure they meet quality standards.
• Identify and report any defects or issues.
• Maintain a clean, tidy and safe working area.
• Meet production targets while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Follow company health & safety procedures at all times.

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience in a bench operative, assembly, manufacturing or production role is advantageous.
• Previous experience within a sheet metal or manufacturing environment.
• Good attention to detail and quality-focused approach.
• Able to use hand power tools safely.
• Ability to follow technical drawings and instructions.
