Bench Operative Location: Sittingbourne, Kent Contract: Permanent Hours: Monday Thursday, 6:00am 2:15pm Pay: £12.71 £14.00 per hour (DOE) plus overtime paid at 1.5x About the Role Our Client is a growing UK manufacturing business seeking a reliable and motivated Bench Operative to join their production team in Sittingbourne. This hands-on role is ideal for someone who enjoys practical work, takes pride in quality, and likes being part of a team-focused manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for carrying out finishing, assembly, and workshop operations on sheet metal components, ensuring products meet customer specifications while maintaining a safe and organised workspace. Key Responsibilities Carry out deburring, dressing, drilling, tapping, countersinking, reaming, tube bending, and sawing. Assemble sheet metal components using hand and power tools. Read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions. Inspect completed work to ensure it meets required quality standards. Report quality concerns or equipment issues to the Team Leader. Complete work to agreed production schedules and targets. Follow all Health and Safety procedures and PPE requirements. Maintain a clean and organised workspace. Support other areas of production when required. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. About You Essential: Good practical skills and strong attention to detail.
