We are looking for a dedicated Behavioural Support Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Gainsborough, supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.The RoleAs a Behavioural Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping pupils manage their emotions, develop positive behaviours and engage with learning in a safe and supportive environment.You will work closely with teachers and other support staff to implement individual behaviour support strategies, build positive relationships with pupils and encourage emotional regulation, confidence and independence. The role may involve supporting children who display challenging behaviour, helping them navigate difficult situations and providing calm, consistent guidance when they become dysregulated.You will also help maintain a structured and nurturing classroom environment, recognise potential triggers, encourage positive choices and support pupils in developing essential social and communication skills.The Ideal CandidateWe are looking for someone who is calm under pressure, patient, empathetic and confident in managing challenging situations.
