Salary: £95 - £105 per day

TeacherActive is proud to be working with an Alternative Provision in Wakefield that supports students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs who are unable to access mainstream education. The setting provides a nurturing and structured environment where every young person is encouraged to develop confidence, resilience and the skills needed to succeed, supported by a dedicated and experienced staff team.

The school is looking to appoint a Behaviour Support Worker on either a long-term or short-term basis from September. The successful Behaviour Support Worker will work closely with students who present with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour and complex backgrounds, using positive behaviour strategies to support both their emotional wellbeing and engagement in learning.

The successful Behaviour Support Worker will have:

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour or within a young offenders setting
• A confident and resilient approach to behaviour management
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• The ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
• A patient, empathetic and proactive attitude
• A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people to achieve positive outcomes
