Are you a Behaviour Support Mentor, SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or Behaviour Support Assistant with experience supporting secondary-aged students with autism, ADHD and challenging behaviour?

A growing specialist education group and alternative provision in Stockport, are seeking a calm, resilient and compassionate Behaviour Support Mentor to support young people with additional needs and barriers to learning.

What you''ll be doing

• Provide 1:1, small-group and classroom support to secondary-aged students.
• Support pupils with ASC / Autism, ADHD, SEMH and challenging behaviour.
• Build positive, trusting relationships and encourage engagement.
• Promote emotional regulation, independence and positive choices.
• Use de-escalation, restorative and trauma-informed approaches.
• Follow EHCP outcomes, behaviour plans and individual risk assessments.
• Adapt support to pupils'' communication, sensory and learning needs.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral teams and wider professionals.
• Maintain accurate behaviour, intervention and safeguarding records.

We''re looking for someone who

• Has experience supporting young people with SEN, autism, ADHD or behavioural needs.
• Is patient, resilient, consistent and confident under pressure.
• Understands behaviour as a form of communication.
• Can build rapport and motivate students who may be disengaged from education.
• Has strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Holds a Level 3+ qualification in education, psychology, childcare, youth work or a related field (desirable).
• Has specialist or alternative provision experience (desirable).
• Has positive handling or de-escalation training (desirable).
