The Role

As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will support students on a 1:1 basis, in small groups and within the classroom, helping them manage their behaviour, regulate their emotions and access learning successfully.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting students with ASC / ADHD / SEMH needs and challenging behaviour.
  • Building positive, professional relationships that encourage trust and engagement.
  • Using effective behaviour management and de-escalation strategies.
  • Promoting emotional regulation, resilience and positive routines.
  • Working cohesively with teachers, pastoral staff and SEN professionals.
  • Using initiative and confidence when working independently with students.
  • Helping to maintain a calm, safe and inclusive learning environment.

We''re Looking For

We''re looking for someone who:

  • Is passionate about supporting young people with additional needs.
  • Has an engaging, enthusiastic and proactive approach.
  • Demonstrates strong behaviour management skills and remains calm under pressure.
  • Works well both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Is patient, resilient and committed to making a positive impact.
  • Has experience in behaviour support, SEN, SEMH, youth work or education (desirable).
  • Holds Team Teach training, or is willing to undertake it (desirable but not essential).
