Salary: GBP105 GBP115 per day
Contract: Full-time, Term-Time Only
About the Role
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Support Assistants to join a vibrant and supportive special primary school in Knowsley, Liverpool. The school caters to pupils aged 4 to 11 with a range of social, emotional, and behavioural needs, as well as additional learning difficulties.
This community-focused school values communication, positive relationships, independence, and emotional well-being. Staff work closely with parents, carers, and external agencies to provide a nurturing, inclusive, and structured environment where every child can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs
Assist pupils with their learning, emotional regulation, and daily routines
Promote positive behaviour strategies and support de-escalation where needed
Encourage independence, resilience, and social skills through consistent, positive reinforcement
Work closely with teachers and other support staff to deliver tailored interventions
Requirements
Minimum of 6 months classroom or behaviour support experience in the UK
Experience working with children with SEND, SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health), or behavioural challenges is desirable
Passionate about supporting vulnerable learners in a special needs setting
Able to build strong, trusting relationships with children and staff
Eligibility
Right to work in the UK
Enhanced Child Barred List DBS (on the Update Service or willing to apply)
Two professional references related to childcare or education
Available to work full-time from September 1st
