LTF Recruitment are working with a school in Derby (DE22) that is eager to appoint a Behaviour Mentor to support 6-16 year old learners with special educational and behavioural needs. The school operates with flexible education, care, therapy and all students have an Educational, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).

Responsibilities

Work 1:1 and in small groups with identified Key Stage 3 students, implementing targeted interventions to support behaviour and emotional regulation.

Collaborate with teachers and SEN staff to promote positive behaviour strategies within the classroom.

Build strong relationships with students, listening to their needs and providing structured support to help them succeed.

Use adaptive strategies to manage challenging behaviours, ensuring students are engaged and making progress.

Set and monitor individual behaviour improvement plans, working closely with pastoral teams and parents where necessary.

Requirements

Experience working with Key Stage 3 students with SEN and behavioural needs in a school or similar setting.

A relevant qualification in Education, Psychology, Health and Social Care, SEN, or Behaviour Support is desirable; Level 3 minimum is preferred.

A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach to working with young people.

Strong communication and de-escalation skills to support students with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.
