A supportive and inclusive school in Reading is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join their team as soon as possible. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys building positive relationships with young people and is committed to helping pupils develop the confidence and strategies needed to succeed. As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with pupils who may display challenging behaviour or have social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. You will provide consistent support, help pupils understand their behaviour and encourage positive strategies for managing emotions, triggers and difficult situations. As a Behaviour Mentor, your responsibilities will include: Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with behavioural needs Building positive, trusting and consistent relationships with young people Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and managing triggers Implementing individual behaviour strategies and support plans Encouraging positive choices, routines, boundaries and expectations Using calm and effective de-escalation techniques when required Helping pupils re-engage with learning following periods of dysregulation Supporting pupils to develop confidence, resilience and independence Working closely with teachers, SEN staff and ..... full job details .....
