This opportunity is ideal for someone who understands the challenges some children face when managing emotions, responding to boundaries and engaging with learning. You will help pupils develop positive behaviour, build trusting relationships and overcome barriers that may affect their experience of school.

Working alongside teachers and pastoral staff, you will provide consistent guidance and encouragement to help pupils develop emotional regulation, improve their engagement and make positive choices throughout the school day.

The Role:

* Building positive relationships while maintaining clear and consistent boundaries
* Helping pupils recognise triggers and develop strategies to manage their emotions
* Supporting agreed behaviour plans and positive reinforcement approaches
* Encouraging pupils to engage with classroom learning and school routines
* Supporting transitions, breaktimes and situations where pupils may need additional guidance
* Helping children develop communication, conflict-resolution and social skills
* Using appropriate de-escalation strategies in line with school policies and training
* Recording relevant observations and sharing feedback with teaching and pastoral staff
* Following safeguarding procedures and promoting a safe, inclusive environment

The Ideal Candidate:

* Has recent UK-based school experience supporting pupils with behavioural, SEMH or SEND needs within the last two years
* Has a calm, confident and consistent approach
* Can build rapport with pupils while maintaining professional boundaries
* Is resilient and able to respond constructively to challenging situations
* Understands positive behaviour support and the importance of emotional regulation
* Has strong communication and relationship-building skills
* Is committed to safeguarding and helping pupils achieve positive outcomes

Experience as a Behaviour Mentor, SEMH Teaching Assistant, Pastoral Support Assistant or within a specialist provision would be particularly beneficial.
