Behaviour Mentor | Mansfield (NG18) | -115 - -130 Per Day | Long Term to Permanent | Start Date: ASAP

Long Term Futures are working in partnership with a SEMH School (NG18) supporting young people who require a more personalised and therapeutic approach to education. We are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to work closely with students in Years 10 and 11 within this setting. The successful candidate will encourage positive behaviour, help pupils develop emotional regulation strategies, and promote strong engagement in learning. You will collaborate with teachers, therapists, and pastoral teams to deliver tailored interventions that build confidence, resilience, and the skills students need to succeed in their GCSE studies.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

• Working one-to-one with students who display challenging behaviour or need additional support.
• Building positive relationships and acting as a trusted adult and role model.
• Helping students develop self-control, emotional regulation, and social skills.
• Creating and monitoring behaviour support plans and targets.
• As a Behaviour Mentor you will use adaptive strategies to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours, promoting engagement and learning progression.
• Develop, monitor, and review individual behaviour support plans, liaising with pastoral leads, parents, and other professionals as needed.

Key Qualifications & Personal Attributes:

• A sports coaching background is desirable but not essential.
• You must have an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
• Minimum Level 3 qualification in Education, Psychology, Health and Social Care, SEN, Behaviour Support, or related field (desirable).
• Naturally patient, with a calm, consistent approach.
• Empathetic and approachable
• Excellent communication & de-escalation skills. Confident liaising with senior leaders, therapists, parents, and external professionals.
