We are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join the pastoral and inclusion team at a local secondary school in Kirkham, Lancashire (close to Preston and the Fylde coast).This vital, hands-on role involves managing and mitigating challenging behaviour, particularly for students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them re-engage with education and achieve their personal goals. The Role: Supporting Students with Challenging Behaviour You will serve as a consistent, positive role model, providing crucial support both in and out of the classroom to ensure students remain safe, regulated, and focused on their learning.De-escalation and Intervention: Provide immediate and expert intervention to manage disruptive behaviour within the classroom, using proven de-escalation techniques and positive handling strategies.1:1 Mentoring: Deliver targeted individual and small-group mentoring sessions focused on improving emotional literacy, self-regulation, resilience, and social skills.Strategy Implementation: Confidently and calmly implement Individual Behaviour Plans (IBPs) and risk assessments, working with teachers to adapt strategies to meet specific student needs.Pastoral Collaboration: Work closely with the SENCO, Heads of Year, and external professionals to ensure a coherent and ..... full job details .....
