GSL Education are currently recruiting for a resilient and dedicated Behaviour Mentor to work in schools across Grantham. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals with experience supporting children or adults with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs who are passionate about making a meaningful impact.
The Role:
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will support students who may display challenging behaviour due to underlying SEMH needs. You will work closely with pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, helping them to develop positive behaviours, emotional regulation, and engagement with learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted support for students with SEMH needs
- Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
- Implement behaviour management strategies and interventions
- Support students in and out of the classroom to remain engaged
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and pastoral teams
Requirements:
- Experience working with children or adults with SEMH needs
- Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, patient approach
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. Psychology, Education, Youth Work, or similar) are desirable
- Ability to build rapport and motivate students
- A proactive and resilient attitude
