Salary: -90 - -115 per day (PAYE, DOE)

Tradewind Recruitment are working with a Primary Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Hillingdon, who are looking to appoint a skilled and committed Behaviour Mentor from September 2025.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support primary-aged children who have faced difficulties in mainstream education and require targeted support for Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, ADHD, and behavioural challenges.

The Role:
As a Behaviour Mentor in a primary PRU, your role will focus on early intervention and helping pupils develop the skills to re-engage positively with learning. You will:

  • Provide individual and small group support tailored to each child''s needs

  • Model positive behaviour and encourage resilience, confidence, and self-regulation

  • Use behaviour management and de-escalation techniques to maintain a safe and structured environment

  • Work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to deliver consistent support strategies

  • Build trusting relationships with pupils and families to promote progress both in and out of the classroom

What We''re Looking For:

  • Experience working with children with challenging behaviour, ideally in a PRU, SEMH school, or alternative provision

  • A calm, empathetic, and proactive approach suited to primary-aged pupils

  • Strong communication and the ability to build rapport quickly

  • Knowledge of behaviour management techniques and trauma-informed practice is highly valued

  • Team Teach, MAPA or equivalent training is desirable (training can be provided)

  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply
