About the Role
We are currently recruiting for a Batching Operative to join a busy and growing production team within the precast concrete industry. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in manufacturing, production, concrete, or heavy industrial environments who is looking for long-term career progression.
The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating and controlling concrete batches to ensure products meet company specifications, quality standards, and production targets. You will operate a computer-controlled batching plant safely and efficiently, supporting production operations across the site.
This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced factory environment where attention to detail, reliability, and teamwork are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a computer-controlled batching plant as part of the production team
- Coordinate and control concrete mixes to ensure specification and quality standards are achieved
- Carry out pre-start and pre-use checks on plant equipment
- Monitor batching operations and report any maintenance or operational issues promptly
- Ensure all equipment is cleaned and maintained, including end-of-shift wash downs
- Work safely and comply with all Health andamp; Safety procedures and PPE requirements
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the production environment
- Maintain accuracy and efficiency to meet daily production deadlines
What We''re Looking For
Essential
- Previous experience within a production, manufacturing, concrete, or industrial environment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately
- Understanding of workplace Health andamp; Safety procedures and PPE requirements
- Awareness of COSHH regulations
- Ability to work effectively in a busy factory environment
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Reliable, punctual, and able to meet production targets consistently
- Positive attitude with a proactive and flexible approach to work
Desirable
- Experience within concrete production, chemical processing, or batching operations
- Knowledge of quality assurance procedures or lean manufacturing principles
- Experience operating plant machinery or automated systems
