The role currently offers one day of teaching per week, with scope to grow bassoon provision across the school. Visiting music teachers are paid directly by parents on a self-employed basis. Current rates are £36.50 per 40-minute Senior School lesson, £27.81 per 30-minute Junior School lesson, and £14.42 per shared Junior School lesson. Music is central to life at Putney High, with a thriving programme of concerts, productions, orchestras and ensembles, supported by a talented team of visiting music teachers. The successful candidate will be a skilled and enthusiastic bassoon specialist, able to teach pupils across a wide range of abilities, including advanced musicians beyond Grade 8 standard.
