Berkeley Scott seeks a Barista for temporary weekday assignments in Central London, starting September. This role suits someone skilled with manual espresso machines and dedicated to specialty coffee. You will manage high-volume service, ensuring precise grind and extraction while crafting quality drinks. The position offers holiday pay, with hourly rates between £14.00 and £14.80 depending on the venue. Shifts run Monday to Friday during daytime hours. What We''re Looking For:
- Proven experience as a barista using manual/espresso machines
- Passion for speciality coffee and a genuine love for hospitality
- Confident working in high-volume and fast-paced environments
- Strong understanding of coffee grind, extraction, milk texturing and cleaning procedures
- Excellent customer service skills, friendly, approachable, and professional
- Team player with a positive, can-do attitude
- Impeccable attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness
- Able to follow food safety and allergen procedures
Requirements:
- Over 18 years old
- Full smart uniform: white and black shirt, black trousers, black shoes
- Level 2 Food Safety andamp; Allergen Awareness certificates (must-have)
- Available Monday to Friday
- Punctual, reliable, and well-presented
What You''ll Be Doing:
- Dialing in and preparing consistently excellent espresso-based drinks
- Managing multiple orders during busy service times
- Maintaining a clean and organised coffee station
- Assisting with light service duties if required (e.g. setting up or clearing)
- Engaging with guests and ensuring top-tier service
- Communicating clearly with kitchen and service teams
- Following all food safety and health andamp; safety protocols
