About the Role

This temporary Barista role with Berkeley Scott is based in the City of London, offering weekday daytime shifts from Monday to Friday. The position pays between £14.00 and £14.80 per hour, inclusive of holiday pay. We are seeking a skilled individual with proven experience using manual espresso machines and a genuine passion for speciality coffee. The role demands confidence in high-volume settings and a strong understanding of coffee grind, extraction, milk texturing, and cleaning procedures. Successful candidates will demonstrate a love for hospitality and the ability to craft excellent coffee consistently across various Central London venues.

What We''re Looking For:

Proven experience as a barista using manual/espresso machines
Passion for speciality coffee and a genuine love for hospitality
Confident working in high-volume and fast-paced environments
Strong understanding of coffee grind, extraction, milk texturing and cleaning procedures
Excellent customer service skills, friendly, approachable, and professional
Team player with a positive, can-do attitude
Impeccable attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness
Able to follow food safety and allergen procedures

Requirements:

Over 18 years old
Full smart uniform: white and black shirt, black trousers, black shoes
Level 2 Food Safety andamp; Allergen Awareness certificates (must-have)
Available Monday to Friday
Punctual, reliable, and well-presented

What You''ll Be Doing:

Dialing in and preparing consistently excellent espresso-based drinks
Managing multiple orders during busy service times
Maintaining a clean and organised coffee station
Assisting with light service duties if required (e.g. setting up or clearing)
Engaging with guests and ensuring top-tier service
Communicating clearly with kitchen and service teams
Following all food safety and health andamp; safety protocols
