Are you an experienced Banksman with a valid NPORS qualification?

Regional Recruitment are recruiting for an experienced NPORS Banksman to join a professional construction team working on a site in Oswestry. This is a site-based role requiring a reliable, safety-conscious individual who can work independently and as part of a wider team.

You will be responsible for safely directing plant and vehicle movements, assisting with deliveries and maintaining safe access and egress around the site, while ensuring high standards of health and safety are maintained at all times.

Qualifications

Essential:

• Valid NPORS Banksman / Traffic Marshal qualification
• Valid CSCS card where required by site
• Previous experience working as a Banksman on a construction site
• Good understanding of site health and safety procedures
• Good communication skills
• Reliable and punctual approach to work

Desirable:

• Previous experience directing heavy plant and construction vehicles
• Previous experience working on busy construction sites
• Relevant additional construction qualifications

Roles & Responsibilities

• Safely directing and marshalling site vehicles and plant
• Guiding reversing vehicles and plant in accordance with site procedures
• Assisting with the safe movement of deliveries around the site
• Ensuring pedestrians and vehicles are kept safely segregated
• Communicating effectively with drivers, plant operators and site management
• Maintaining awareness of hazards and changing site conditions
• Following all site rules, RAMS and health and safety procedures
• Assisting with site access and egress when required
• Maintaining excellent timekeeping and attendance
• Keeping the work area clean, organised and free from unnecessary hazards
• Wearing the correct PPE and maintaining a professional appearance
• Reporting any hazards, incidents or unsafe practices to site management
• Undertaking general site duties when required
• Being flexible and willing to assist the wider site team
• Undertaking any other ad-hoc duties as directed by the site management team

Requirements

As a Banksman, you will also be expected to:

• Follow all instructions given by the Site Manager or Supervisor
• Complete any required site documentation accurately and on time
• Ensure all vehicle and plant movements are carried out safely
• Maintain clear communication with drivers, operators and other site personnel
• Work effectively as part of the wider construction team

• Take reasonable care for their own health and safety and that of others in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and associated legislation.
• Co-operate fully with the company and colleagues to ensure statutory and safety requirements are always met.
• Follow all site-specific health and safety procedures, RAMS and instructions.
• Ensure appropriate PPE is worn at all times.
• Report hazards, accidents and unsafe working practices promptly.
