Wathwood is an award-winning Forensic Mental Health Hospital providing high quality care in a secure setting. We have opportunities for a Band 5 RMN to join our multidisciplinary teams to provide assessment, risk management, care and treatment to aid recovery and support the patient journey in a medium secure setting. We are looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate and highly motivated nurse with Mental Health experience.Interviews will be held on 12 September 2025.Main duties of the jobApplicants Will Need To:Have excellent interpersonal skillsWork effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary teamBe committed to providing the highest standards of carePromote and maintain high standards of care through excellent communication, motivation, supervision and role modellingAs a Band 5 Staff Nurse you will be required to complete Named Nurse duties for a group of patients and implement the nursing process to provide a high standard of individualised patient care to assist patients on their recovery journey in a medium secure setting. You may take charge of shifts on a regular basis and oversee the care of all patients and the performance of team members.You must be able to work a 7-day week, 24-hour shift pattern, including regular night shifts. You must be an RMN or completing a qualification in Mental Health Nursing and be registered with the NMC. Experience of working in Mental Health is essential. Flexible working and part-time options are available. The Trust is committed to reducing carbon emissions and environmental performance.Detailed Job Description And Main ResponsibilitiesClinical Management: take charge of the ward regularly and manage allocated resources to meet standards and targets; organise workload for effective and efficient care.Clinical Practice: work with the Multi-Disciplinary Team to initiate, implement and evaluate policies and clinical practice against agreed criteria.Health Promotion: assist patients in maintaining physical wellbeing and pursue Health of the Nation targets.Quality: ensure patient care meets agreed Quality Standards; promote a culture of dignity and respect.Risk: undertake risk assessments and implement them within the patient’s care programme.Please note: this post does not meet the pay level required for a Skilled Worker visa.
