Overview

We are seeking experienced and autonomous Emergency Nurse Practitioners (ENPs) or Emergency Practitioners (EPs) to join our Bank team within our Minor Injury Units. This is a flexible opportunity to work shifts that suit your lifestyle while delivering high-quality, patient-centred care in a fast-paced community setting. As a Bank ENP you will independently assess, diagnose, and manage a wide range of undifferentiated injuries and illnesses. You will be responsible for the full episode of care, including clinical assessment, requesting and interpreting diagnostics, prescribing, and performing procedures under local anaesthesia. You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, support nursing colleagues. This role requires advanced clinical reasoning, decision-making skills, and a commitment to evidence-based practice.Responsibilities

Autonomous assessment and management of patients presenting with minor injuries and acute illnessIndependent prescribing and advanced clinical proceduresSupporting and guiding nursing staff within the MIUProvide autonomous assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and discharge of patients presenting with minor injuries and acute illnesses within the Minor Injury Units (MIUs)Act as a role model and expert resource in emergency care, promoting best practice and high standards of patient carePerform advanced clinical procedures, prescribe independently, and manage complex patient presentations using evidence-based practiceCommunicate effectively with patients, families, carers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless, patient-focused careRespond appropriately to emergency situations, including resuscitation and major incidents, ensuring safety and coordination of careQualifications

Registered Nurse or Allied Health Professional with relevant qualificationsAdvanced clinical skills and experience in urgent/emergency careAbility to work independently and make complex clinical decisionsExcellent communication and teamwork skillsCommitment to high standards of patient care and safetyBenefits and About Somerset
