Salary: 12.21-14 per hour-

The Role
As a Bandsaw Operator, you will be responsible for cutting steel to precise specifications while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate bandsaw machinery to cut steel materials accurately

• Read and interpret job sheets, measurements, and technical specifications

• Use a variety of hand tools safely and effectively

• Operate an overhead crane to move steel materials (training refresh available if required)

• Carry out routine equipment checks and basic maintenance

• Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety regulations

• Maintain a clean and organised work area

Requirements

• Proven experience working in the steel industry

• Previous experience operating a bandsaw

• Competent in the use of hand tools

• Experience operating an overhead crane

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Good understanding of workplace health & safety

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable

• Valid overhead crane licence/certification

• Forklift licence (advantageous but not essential)
