Senior Occupational Therapist

Location: Stagenhoe, Hitchin, Hertfordshire

Salary: -39,959 - -48,117 per annum (DOE) (Equivalent to NHS Band 6)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Brainkind is looking for a passionate and motivated Senior Occupational Therapist to join our specialist multidisciplinary team at Stagenhoe, our neurological rehabilitation service in Hitchin.

About Stagenhoe

Stagenhoe is one of Brainkind''s flagship neurological rehabilitation services, providing specialist rehabilitation and long-term care for adults with acquired brain injuries and complex neurological conditions.

Working alongside Neuropsychologists, Physiotherapists, Speech & Language Therapists, Nurses, Rehabilitation Support Workers and Activities Coordinators, you''ll help deliver holistic rehabilitation that enables people to achieve greater independence.

About the Role

As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you''ll provide specialist Occupational Therapy assessments, treatment planning and rehabilitation programmes that support people to maximise independence across daily living, mobility, leisure and community participation.

Alongside managing your own clinical caseload, you''ll support Therapy Assistants and Activities Coordinators, contribute to service development and work closely with the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver outstanding neurological rehabilitation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver specialist Occupational Therapy assessments and rehabilitation programmes.
  • Manage a varied neurological caseload using evidence-based practice.
  • Develop personalised treatment plans that promote independence and quality of life.
  • Support rehabilitation planning within the multidisciplinary team.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership to Therapy Assistants and Activities Coordinators.
  • Contribute to service development and continuous quality improvement.
  • Develop specialist skills in equipment provision, seating and rehabilitation technology.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and professional standards.

About You

We''re looking for an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist with a passion for neurological rehabilitation and person-centred care.

You''ll ideally have:

  • Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Current HCPC registration.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Excellent communication and clinical reasoning skills.
  • Ability to manage your own workload and work autonomously.
  • Experience working within neurological rehabilitation, acquired brain injury, complex care or a related setting.
  • A collaborative approach and commitment to delivering high-quality rehabilitation.
