We are seeking an experienced Registered Mental Health Nurse to join the Mixed Ward Assessment Unit at the Kings Wood Centre, Colchester. You will be involved with a wide multidisciplinary team caring for Adult Inpatients on an assessment ward, supporting patients holistically, involving carers and relatives, and adapting quickly to changing circumstances to provide high-quality care.We are keen to have staff who are passionate about patient care and actively involved in service development. Assist the ward in the day-to-day operation of the clinical area and contribute to the development of the team.Work collaboratively as a Key Worker within the multidisciplinary team, liaising with professionals and other agencies, and providing guidance to clinical staff as necessary.Ensure effective communication with patients, relatives, visitors and staff; manage clinical risk, ensure risks are assessed, care plans are in place, and concerns are communicated within the MDT (including environmental factors).Promote evidence-based practice in day-to-day clinical activity.Ensure safe standards in the administration of medication.Support colleagues in interventions related to violence and aggression management, including de-escalation techniques and, when necessary, the use of physical intervention (DCandR).Work flexibly across a 24-hour period to meet operational requirements of the unit.Contribute to service development and participate in staff appraisals, mandatory training, and supervision where appropriate.Collaborate with partner organisations, patients, carers, clinicians and other practitioners to deliver a 7-day-a-week, 24-hours-a-day service as required.Qualifications and Skills

Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with current registration.Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment and demonstrate compassionate, patient-centered care.Good communication and liaison skills with patients, families and multidisciplinary teams.Flexibility to work across shifts and meet operational needs.Benefits and Additional Information
