Band 4 - Therapy Assistant Practitioner, Medical team

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Therapy Assistant Practitioner to join our well-established Medical Team within the Inpatient Therapy Service.The role is full-time (37.5 hours per week), working Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.While this post does not include evening or overnight responsibilities, the successful candidate will be required to participate in weekend and Bank Holiday rotas (1:4 – 1:6 frequency).The successful applicant must have significant experience as a therapy or nursing assistant in the NHS and a passion for rehabilitating patients on medical wards.The role includes supporting qualified Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists. The post holder will assess patients and deliver complex treatments to dependent patients under supervision.The role involves clinical and non-clinical duties, such as assisting with department operations, data collection, and equipment management.The candidate will work independently, making treatment and discharge decisions for a specific patient group.You will be line managed by a Physiotherapist and supported by the Inpatient Therapy team at Watford General Hospital. Regular supervision and a training program will support your development.This position addresses the increasing demand for rehabilitation in the acute setting, aiming to reduce hospital stay and enhance patient outcomes.
