Bakery Manager

The Bakery Manager will be responsible for leading the Bakery department, managing Supervisors, Bakers, Cake Decorators and Wrappers. The role will also involve monitoring operations, tackling inefficiencies and developing business plans and strategies to meet sales targets.

Duties will include:

· Develop, train, counsel and direct department personnel

· Ensure schedules meet the needs of the department

· Make recommendations for hiring, promotion and termination to the Warehouse Manager

· Review and approve area timecards

· Draft and present employee performance evaluations

· Oversee the flow of operations and check quality and consistency of finished products

· Ensure department procedures are properly followed

· Develop and present sales and merchandising plans to meet sales targets

· Determine production requirements based on income statements

· Maintain strong teamwork and communication within the department and across the warehouse

· Provide and ensure prompt and courteous service to members, employees and vendors

· Support the management team with ad-hoc security checks and alarm callouts as required

The successful Bakery Manager will:

· Be educated to GCSE standard or equivalent

· Hold an Intermediate Food Hygiene Certification

· Have bakery and/or management experience ideally

· Have strong managerial, communication and leadership skills
