Back up driver/operational Support

Role Purpose To provide reliable back-up driving and operational support to the gas mains replacement teams, ensuring operatives, vehicles, materials, plant, equipment and Signing, Lighting and Guarding (SLG) are available where required to support safe and efficient delivery of the programme. The role will primarily provide cover where the normal driver is unavailable and will also support day-to-day site and logistical activities when driving cover is not required Key Responsibilities Provide driving cover for gas mains replacement teams as required. Deliver, collect and transfer Signing, Lighting and Guarding (SLG) equipment to and from operational work sites. Assist with the safe placement, checking and removal of SLG where required and where appropriately trained and authorised. Collect, deliver and transfer materials, tools, plant and equipment required by operational teams. Support the movement of vehicles and equipment between work sites and the yard. Ensure vehicles are operated safely, legally and in accordance with company requirements. Complete required daily vehicle checks and immediately report defects, damage or maintenance requirements. Maintain vehicles in a clean, safe and serviceable condition. Assist site teams with general operational and logistical duties when not undertaking driving activities.
