On behalf of our client, we are seeking to recruit an Avionic Fitter on an initial 3-month contract. As the Avionic Fitter, you will be working for the largest helicopter manufacturer supporting on major projects.
Role: Avionic Fitter
Pay: -21.05 per hour PAYE
Location: Oxford
Contract: Monday - Friday - 08:00 - 17:00, 40 hours per week, 3-month contract
IR35 Status: Inside
Security Clearance: BPSS, will require SC Clearnce
Responsibilities
- To maintain the safety and airworthiness and helicopters within the Installations department whilst being customised and maintained.
- Accomplishment of work for the Installation Supervisor or Certifying Engineer.
- Work to high standards to ensure continued safe operation of the aircraft.
- Manufacture electrical looms and avionics systems in accordance with design data
- Conduct off-aircraft work in workshops as required.
- Will also be required to assist in day to day running of the hangar, including aircraft movements and general housekeeping.
- Flexible working attitude to deal with the changing priorities within the department.
- This a certifying role reporting to the Installation and Production Manager
- Ensure that good practices of H&S are maintained and that appropriate PPE for each task is being used.
- Remove and refit panels and cowlings to helicopters and equipment.
- Work closely with the design office.
- Carry out repairs to aircraft wiring looms and avionics systems
Essential Skills& Qualifications
- Ability to work as part of a team, and on own initiative, as well as to high standards in
- order to ensure the continued, safe operation of the aircraft.
- Able to work in confined spaces
- Experience of helicopter systems
- Flexible with a positive approach and genuine enthusiasm for the role.
- Reliable with ability to remain calm when under pressure.
- Well organized and methodical - paying attention to detail.
- Able to work to a shift pattern, as required, (shift allowance payable).
- Ability to accurately interpret detailed wiring diagrams and associated data
- Have recent experience of manufacturing wiring looms including terminating of
- connectors and carrying continuity testing
- Recent experience of on and off aircraft soldering and crimping techniques
- Knowledge of the use of specialist test equipment related to electrical and avionic
- systems
- Ability to use Google Office, SAP and MS products (Desirable)
Education, Qualifications & Special Training
- Completed a formal aviation apprenticeship or related discipline.
- Experience on Airbus Helicopters.
- Driving license
